If you see this error:
echo "Gentoo can speak" | festival --tts
Linux: can't open /dev/dsp
it's because festival by default try to use old sound architecture istead of alsa.

to fix just read gentoo wiki HOWTO_speechd

Or simply do:
 echo ... (Continua)
